grey spot under mouth on f8

so today I got in 3 f8's for my new tank, I ordered 2 but they sent me 3(long story). When they came in today, all 3 of them have various parts of fins missing/nipped off and 1 of them has a grey spot under his mouth, on neck/chin area. Otherwise all their bellies are white. The one with the grey spot seems to be hiding a little more than the rest of them, but still very active. I drip acclimated them over the course of an hr, which was probably a bit excessive considering the SG in the tank is only 1.001 but I wanted to be safe. They all happily ate thawed bloodworms about an hr after I put them in the tank.

background on tank: got the tank a few weeks ago and put 3 platys in there to cycle the tank through. Added API quick start to the tank at the beginning and over the course of 2 weeks water had seemed to cycle through. I do not have the exact measurements written down but I did a 50% change a week and a half ago and added some quick start again. After that change the amm and nitrite spiked a little but came back down to 0 after a few days and all values stayed within normal limits. Last night I checked the water and I don't know what happened but amm- 0.25, nitrite- 0, nitrate -80-160( in between colors on my test). after that I started looking really close at the fish and tank and saw what I am assuming to be worms(pretty much the only thing it could be) floating around. Based on recommendations I immediately took the platys out( which I was going to do today anyways) and did a 100% WC. Went to LFS last night( well 3 LFS) and all of them were out of Tetra safestart, so I got stability instead and Prime. Added prime and stability last night, checked water this AM and amm and nitrite - 0.5 nitrate-0. Went back to LFS and begged employee to look for safestart in the back and they found some!! so I also added that as soon as I got home.
water as of now- amm-0.25, nitrite- 0, nitrate- 20, pH- 8.1, SG- 1.001, temp- 80

is this something I should be worried about( the grey spot)? also, I have some melafix that I can put in the tank for the fins but it recommends taking out the carbon which I really hesistate to do because of the "emergency cycle" that I just did. any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!!

I'm locking this, as it's get confusing with it being pretty much a repeat post of your other threads. Let's try to keep this all in 1 thread.
