acclimating new GSP to full marine

I'm not getting one yet, just planning ahead. I have a 36G bowfront that I'd like to eventually use for one. However since most places here (I think it's usual) sell GSPs in FW it will have to be a slow acclimation. The plan is to already have my 36G cycled and kept running. Maybe with some green chromis to keep the BB alive. While it is cycling, buy a small GSP, and put him in my 20G-long. Starting with pure FW (1.000SG), I was thinking of increasing about (no more than) .002/week, during my WC, until I reach 1.023SG. This would take a little over 2 months. Is this an ample amount of time and a feasible plan? Is this slow enough where the BB in the 20G can change with the salinity?

I could even use the 20G long as a refugium after that!

I don't think you have to stretch it out over a 2 month period. Although it wouldn't hurt anything. Personally I acclimated my GSP from fresh to full marine in just 2 weeks, but I don't think that's reccomended

You can drop acclimate your gsp in a bucket over a few hours, use airline with a knot in and form a syphon so it drips in to the bucket, as the bucket fills remove some water and allow it to fill again. Gsp can handle quite fast sg changes as they will swim from f/w to s/w in the wild

+1 to Bertie's suggestion.

No more than .002/hour though. You're gonna need an airstone & small heater & keep dumping out 1/2 the water every few hours.
