So, first time posting on this forum. Also first time I'm looking to get puffers I have been keeping freshwater fish for about 5 years now, which has gone well, but simply have to get myself some puffers! Originally I wanted colomesus but due to my location (Derby) and high shipping costs, that soon changes to GSP. I've read about and read so much conflicting info. Now rather than Wikipedia, I'd like some tips from people who have kept these before I have a 3 and a half foot, 180 litre tank, fully cycled...although more plants will need to be added. Want to know how many would be happy together in there, whether they can stay as freshwater or i would have to move to brackish, and any other helpful or useful tips

GSP NEED high-end brackish or marine environments (sg range 1.015-1.024). I wouldn't recommend one for a beginner.
If you wanna stay freshwater, look up into the carinotetraodon genus, namely the red-eyed and dwarf puffer. There are also many other freshwater species, just look under the pufferpedia; some of them may be quite rare though.
If you want a nice colorful brackish beginner puffer, Figure eight puffers require very low end brackish (1.004-1.006), although they do like a more basic ph water (7.8-8 or so)
