Porc Puffer Has Marine Crypt

My Pocrupine puffer has Crypt. I'd post the obvious readings of my DT but I've been in the hobby for over 10 years and I know what Marine Ich looks like. I'm here for advice on treatment.
With most fish I just QT them and hit them with copper but Porcs tend to be more sensitive than other fish. I'm in the process of QTing him in a different tank other than my original QT because I'm going to try and do Hyposalinity. From what I understand it's easier on the fish than copper treatment. I'll lower the salinity gradually over a few days to eventually 1.09 and keep it at that reading for a few weeks until I see no signs of stress.
I'm seeking the advice from anyone else who has used Hypo to treat their Porcs and wondering if there are any tips to helping him along the way. I setup a small 10g tank for him considering he's only about 4-5 inches with a heater and HOB filter just for water flow. I'd worry about the nitrogen cycle but it's inevitable considering I'm dropping the salinity down to 1.09 that I'll kill all the nitrifying bacteria anyways. So, I guess i'll be forced to do WC's every other day to keep things in check. Any advice on this approach or should I just go with copper?
