The cleaner shrimp should make a great backup food source for the Toby...
if it isn't completely or partially eaten right away.
The Toby might enjoy the attention.

We (naively) put a cleaner shrimp in with a Crypt-infested dogface puffer. The shrimp sat on the dogface munching parasites off and on for several days, though not necessarily eating the Crypt. The dogface seemed to love it, but just as he seemed to be feeling better, the shrimp vanished mysteriously. Granted, dogface puffers tend to be far more gluttonous than Tobies.

I will be adding a small Toby to my tank over the next few days with any luck, I have 2 full size cleaner shrimp and a full size camel shrimp. I will let you know how it goes. I am hoping that because the shrimp are large and established the puffer will leave them alone, I can only hope lol

I have two of them in there with her and she followed one of them around but now doesn't seem interested in them. I think my goby is afraid of them lol

Almost a month later and she could care less about them lol although one is her size and the other is bigger than her! I've only seen my goby being cleaned once. I'd love to see Lila getting cleaned XD
