Hi all from the uk, I hope you don't mind but i have a question.

I have kept marine puffers for many years, porcupine, dog face, spiny box, stars and stripes etc but we had to close the system down for a while so we re homed them, we have now a new system all cycled etc and maturing nicely but we would like to have a valentini puffer pair, we have kept valentinis before but always on their own, i have a male available and know a local fish store has a female, has anyone had any experience in pairing them and if so how did they get on?

Welcome to the forum, where abouts are you from? Brightonian here lol. Sorry I have little knowledge on this particular puffer but you came to the right place, someone will chime in soon with an answer. Most of our members are American so on very different clocks to us, but your answer will come

Are you looking to breed them or just have them get along? How do you sex them?

According to a few sites they're pretty easy to sex, the male has vivid lines behind his eyes where as the female does not, also a difference in a few other markings through out the body, I'm not looking to breed but fancy having a pair, I once put a mirror against a tank and the show was pretty spectacular i have too say, she really thought she had found a mate, I'm from Northampton England
