Thank you. I decided that if I'm going to have a high-end brackish or full marine aquarium, it should have color.

Adding a backing would upgrade the appearance by hiding the cords.

That was my very first thought. I think fish feel mor comfortable with a background too.
And spend a few dollars for some background adhesive. The difference over just taping it on is night and day.

You might also hang the heater diagnally under the filter with part of the lower heater near the filter intake.

Thank you so much for the tips! I am currently looking for a background. I never thought about putting the heater under the filter intake.
I really appreciate any and all advice and suggestions.

I have added a temporary background to my GSP tank. I have plans for a different background, but need to get supplies.
(I haven't moved the heater yet, but I will.....)

Ok, so..... I'm still working on the background. I really like the blue, and how it reflects up into the water. Here's my latest idea/attempt:

He does look tiny for now (about 2"), but that means he has a lot of room to swim about and grow into.
