new mbu tank mates

hi I've recently got a 6 inch mbu puffer and he's in with my mbuna. now he's not getting bullied in the least, in fact he's completely left alone. the cichlids just squabble amongst themselves. the thing is I'm tired of having a setup that's so busy. I want to sell the cichlids and opt for a calmer setup centred around the puffer. maybe get some schooling fish? just wanted some opinions on some good tank buddies for him? it should be noted that my tank contains coral sand so fish that require very soft water probably wouldn't be suitable. many thanks in advance

+1. This monster needs a huge space. Most fish are generally a no-go with puffers, even the most placid puffer can turn murderous without warning.

Not maliciously evil, just hungry.
