Dwarf Puffer Care

I am wanting to get a Dwarf Puffer for my 10g once my last two Black Skirts have died. I have read a lot about the Dwarf Puffers but still have a few questions. My aquarium has a bunch of snails in it so will I have to remove them or will the Puffer eat them as needed? I also wanted to know how much stuff I need in my aquarium for the puffers to be mentally stimulated? Right now a have four pieces of wood three of which are over a foot long and the other is about eight inches long. After most of my fish died off I lost interest in my aquarium and let the plants die but there is still some Java Moss and a couple of small Java Ferns. I will be adding more plants and maybe a rock or two. I also am using play sand as my substrate so will that work for Dwarf Puffers?

Dwarf puffers are not really fussed about the substrate you add so it's personal choice. Sounds like there will be plenty in there to keep him occupied
