Growth rate of SAPS

Wondering if anyone knows the growth rate or an approximate time/phases of growth about SAPs. When got them they said they were juveniles, am wondering about growth spurts, since they have been well from the ick they have eaten all the little ramshorn snails in the tank, and are eating mysis 3 times a week, and all my medium sized and and small snails in my snail breeding tank- in about a week, I was feeding them about 30 a day had to go to my LFS and buy some feeders as my snail tank was not overgrown enough to support their new appetite. Now have the adult ramshorns in a lovely heated tank with a bubbler and and moss hoping to get the numbers up again. Any thoughts, they are not bulging at the the seams or anything, they plump when they eat and then poop alot and wnat to eat again, they are very active and happy since being well an dhave fattened up, but will this eating pace continue? Is this normal for SAPS? a growth spurt? getting healthy again? thanks.

I would think as active as this species is, they're gonna have a high metabolism.

Yup slow gradual growers opposed to growth spurts in less active ones. Put a marker on the tank and ignore them for a while after gauging rough size, you will see a steady increase in size.

I've had my SAPs since december 2012, and yes, they're bigger, but it doesn't seem like a lot since I got them. I know they were pretty young, but like berie says, it does seem to be slow growth.
