Hi I'm a newbie here not puffer love reading all about different fish in this forum.
My Tank is a Juwel Vio 40 it's only small it's been up and running now for 3 weeks
It contains all males 3 Danio 3 Neon tetra's 2 platies and 4 Guppies all seem to be doing well right
now tank is planted. I need a little help how much water would you change per week and how much
safe water would you add to the tank. I have also some liquid plant food how much of this do I need to use
I'm shocking on the maths part. I should mention that the 3 danio were given to me in a very small tank
and I'm thinking of taking these out of the tank as I know the the size of mine is small for them.
Here a picture of my tank and if any one can help in getting the planting right would be great.

http://yamatogreen.com/ ..... they carry good products. Use a good light, I forget if its 2 watts per gallon or 1.... it might even say on the yamato website, it has a lot of great info in itself. Remember to remove leaves or broken off plant parts, it rots and its just not something you want in your water or filter. If you don't have a C02 system, look into Seachems Excel product, its a decent substitute. I don't trust API Liquid Carbon, but hey its your money. remember to do regular water changes to remove any excess nutrients. Algae is a microscopic plant that thrives on the same nutrients plants do uncluding light, so you need to learn your balance and what you can do less without... Like phosphates... Phosphates may give you an algae bloom, and IME its the worst kind of problem and will make you want to quit. Buy a liquid freshwater test kit so you know where you are at mid-week. Its an art to house plants with fish, and I believe its harder to grow healthy plants in a small tank. Once you got it though, you will have too many plants, they will multiply and that may or may not be a good problem to have. GOOD LUCK

Edit: I just noticed those backdrop plants and they look like Anachris...theyre cool and very hardy but if you end up using Seachems Excel, it will kill them. Do your research before using any plant product or buying plants like you would any fish.

Hi defool89 thank you for your reply the red and green plant at back is Alteranthera cardinals right at side is Pogostemon erectus
in middle theirs parrotfeather towards front of tank I think this is dwarf hair grass and the one in the pot I have know idea.
