Hey guys, I understand puffers need snails in their diet to keep their teeth filed but my partner is squeamish with the idea of live-feeding and doesn't like it, i know that snails are essential in their diet could we feed them per-killed snails?
If not, then live feeding it old be. But can this be done?? I.e. frozen and thawed perhaps or by other method?

Frozen snails are perfectly fine to feed them, just make sure you thaw them out in a little container with some tank water prior to feeding, preferably with added vitamins formulated for fish.

That's great

Amother quick question, can you feed them cooked seafood for example cooked mussels from the supermarket? (obviously not in oils and sauces lol).

Cooked seafood is less nutritional so best to stick to raw

Cooked is also harder for them to digest, so as Bertie says, stick to raw.

I don't get the impression anyone is suggesting cooking the snail. I sometimes fed mine frozen snails (thawed of course) and he didn't know the difference (yes, he told me he couldn't tell

) But if you're feeling squimish about feeding them live, it's probably just as "cruel" to be frozen slowly to death. That is how I prepared mine, left in freezer alive. Poor things. Being an animal lover can be difficult, I know the feeling!
