Shallow 20 gal Tank

I just bought a used 20 gallon tank. The dimensions are 30X12X12. I'm worried that this tank would be too shallow for a puffer though I'm not sure. I was I could put either dwarves in there or a red eye or two. Would a 12 inch deep tank be too shallow for these guys?

Lol, that is a 20 gallon long tank and lots if puffers would love it.
In general, a long tank is better for puffers because they like swimming left to right, as opposed to up and down.
An f8, or red eye or dwarfs would love that tank.

The bigger foot print the better...
I used to have 40 gal breeder tanks and my puffers just loved it.
I would do a 1 red eye puffer setup out of that 20 gal L

You have lots of potions for that tank. I keep a Congo puffer in a 20L.

20-longs are great tanks for the small active puffers, or the slightly larger less active ones. I have had a lot of those tanks with puffers in them.
