Thanks I have few sand colored flat stones that I stacked to make some ledges. They are heavy enough that they cant be toppled over and no sharp edges. I also have a large round one on the other side of the tank the same color. I have plenty of area that is just sand in case he decided to bury himself (he hasn't yet). I will have to post a picture of the whole set up.

Please do. Double check the solidity ( is that a word?) of everything as he grows, fahaka a are unbelievably powerful once large.

I would remove the goldfish or whatever is in there with him.
Good luck. Glad things are working out for your new friend.

I never feed feeder fish but when I got the Fahaka he wasn't eating anything. The guy that sold me the puffer said he was eating feeder fish so I figured I would give it a try just to get him some nourishment. Well that gold fish is a feeder fish that has grown extremely fast in the past month. I would remove him but I have no where to put him. There is also a small feeder guppy swimming around to.

Get rid of the feeder fish ASAP. Find them new homes or return to the pet shop.

Sir yes sir, right away sir! Wow who taught you manners? Take a feeder fish back to the store. Why so it can die in the filthy feeder tank or so it can be eaten be another fish? I personally hate using feeder fish but as mentioned before I was trying to save my Fahaka.
I don't have another tank available and I don't know anyone that will take a feeder fish to put in their tank.

haha , yea ive had freshwater puffers for years and i keep my feeder fish in same tank as my puffers, imo every animal acts differently depending on how its raised, got my fahaka puffer, jack dempsey, fancy gold fish ,two river puffers ,2 crazy 8s, along with a lion fish eel, pleco and hundreads of feeder fish all in the same 200 gallon tank , all have been there for a good 5 years sept the feeder fish and snails of course being added once a month or so
