ice pack used to cool tank cracked and leaked!PH AT 8.7+!!!

A small amount of the chemicals in my Ice-Pak leaked into my tank. label says non-toxic. but my ph has been raised to 8.7 or above!
I have a 75gallon tank with a berlin setup. 80lbs of live rock and plenty of lighting,filtration and water flow. Is there anything I can do? should i do a massive water change? do i need some sort of carbon filter? I am worried that everything is going to die! anyone else had this happen?

Yes, do as large a WC as you can & run a TON of fresh carbon in there.

+1 to Pufferpunk's comments above.
For the future, save some 2L soda bottles, wash and rinse well, the 3/4 fill them with tap water and freeze for use as needed. They will be totally safe. You can use treated tap water to be sure of safety. The best cures are the ones that you can avoid needing.

we regularly hit the high 80's with a humidex of close to 100 in Toronto,

How warm did the temp get in the tank? You'd be better off cooling it with a fan, or baggies filled with ice or an old soda bottle with ice froxen in it.

The highest I've seen in rural Qc is 35C(95ish F) for 2 veddy long weeks and the humidex took us upto 42C(110 ish) ...it gets hot here in igloo country..They never told me this when we bought Summer Times Shares in the Ice Hotel

For future cooling
Buffer or case fans are pretty common and easy to buy. If you have an old computer sitting around there might me one on the case or cpu and there is definitely one in the power supply. And any old 9 to 12 volt transformer type power supply will work...You know; one from an old answering machine, cordless phone, cordless drill, etc. An old cell phone adapter probably won't work as they are only like 3.5 to 5 volts.
A small piece of plexiglass and cut a round hole in it for the fan and install it with 2 sided tape. Use the gray 3m tape...Always us the gray 3m tape, it cost more but is worth it. The hole can be cut with a common hole-saw. Also the fan is directed to blow down on the water surface.
Kinda like this...
I get 4 or 5 degrees of cooling from this. The rippling of the water's surface surely results in greater aeration to boot.
