Love At First Sight

This past weekend I stumbled upon some puffer vids on youtube and since then all I've done is think of fw puffers. Yesterday I pulled my unused 60 gallon aquarium out of the garage cleaned it out and got it going. I would like to inform myself as much as possible while my tank cycles and I was wondering if there was any good literature on the care and husbandry of fw puffers? I have my eyes on a hairy or a congo.

Welcome!
check out the "learn" tab in the navigation bar, above
a 60 gallon tank might be a bit big for a hairy or congo as they are relatively inactive fish (as in
very lazy)

Thanks! As far as the aquarium size should I down grade to a 40 gallon?

Activity is low in these puffers so the tank may look empty, however provide the biggest tank you can for puffers and you will reap the rewards. Welcome to the forum

20 gallon is fine, 20 long preferably
my congos' rarely spent any time in half the tank, so really, it doesn't matter that much
it's the tank volume that matters more than the footprint
