Those with fahakas how active is your puffer and what is your temp?

Mine is around 78 & he is very mellow.

Mines kept at 70 F, and he's usually begging for food. I realize this might be low, but I think keeping the temperature constant is the important thing. I was told that I couldn't keep small polyp stony corals successfully at that low of a temperature, and they grew so fast I was soon trading frags at the LFS. Stability is the key IMO.

70 is not a tropical temp.

+1, I'd recommend that you keep the temp at 78-80 or you run the risk of the fish becoming more sluggish, incometely digest food, stunt/slow growth, and various other health problems.

I dont even use a heater anymore. Living in this part of texas its foolish to have one. I only use it if its cold cold cold outside, but rarely does it last long enough or cold enough where the home heater isnt enough.

My water temp is soley dependent on room temperature. the nile river parameters fluctuate so much that fahakas are hardy by nature. although some may strongly disagree, my only suggestion is to stay away from extremes, below 65°f and above 80°f for extended periods and you will be fine. My fahaka has never had trouble pooping, eating and by no means did he ever miss an inch, and thats how I roll.

Mine ran 75-78F. I rarely use heaters, but my multiple pumps/filters and lights keep the room tropical.

My temp sits around 79-82 degrees. Arizona water is warming up and I might need to get a chiller since its the beginning of the summer and my coldest setting on my faucet is already 80.6.... he is very active, I rarely ever see him laying unless its time for bed, during the day he is always on the move and is social. Everytime I come to the tank he comes right up.

tank 2 26.8 in living room

Wilma i guess is a pretty aktive fahaka.
Lost of searching the tank, Big time BEGGING, whenever she see's me wifey or son she's at the front buzzing back and forth but she also digs in, actually she have had me crawling the floor in fear of her having jumped as i could not see her at all


Temp steady at 26.5c or 80f

Resonable current which she seems to enjoy.

Oh yeah she's 4-5" without tail
