Feeding question

So I like to feed my hairy puffer between 2-3 times a week. I alternate what I feed him, like I feed him raw shrimp, raw clam, and Ill throw a live fish in there once and a while. My question is that when he does eat like lets say I am feeding him shrimp (actually jumbo prawn) I will hold it by the tail and let him eat as much as he wants till he stops. The thing is he eats so much that he turns into a balloon, finds a place on the sand he likes to lay, and dosent move for at least 36 hours. Yeah its probably not healthy for him so how do you guys feed your puffers or what should I do differently?

My miurus gets fed 1-2x/week. He never moves, so he never uses up any calories.

i feed mine pretty much the same diet but include snails and trying earthworms and maybe mealworms as well. i do not feed any fish to my puffer. This happens to my GSP as well just the other day i had fast it for 3 days from last meal threw in a jumbo shrimp and let it nibble on it for 5-6 minutes only. scooped out the uneaten food and my GSP was like a balloon. i do not feed very often at max 3 times a week. although my puffer gets fat when eating he/she is still active with the ocassion laying down on the gravel. seems fine just might be lazy and if so maybe try feeding less often 1-2 times a week. my puffer is very active throughout the day only at night is it laying on the gravel/sleeping.
