Hello,

Today while feeding my figure eight puffer I noticed the body was thin and when I fed him he would not eat it. Is this normal or is he possibly sick?

Could you please answer all the questions above, in red?

1. my pH is 7.8, ammonia, nitrite and nitrates are all 0

2. my figure eight puffer is by itself in a 10 gallon aquarium

3. i fed it yesterday but it did not finish, today added new water and used prime and stress coat

4. i have changed nothing in the aquarium

5. the aquarium has been running for two months


it is staying on the bottom of the tank not moving, very thin at the rear half of its body, his color is not as intense at it usually is

i am worried about my little friend

no i was wondering that i hope i did not hurt him i read a lot about them and it flipped between fresh and brackish water a lot i would like to know which one because how confusing it is to follow

i feed him all these food, not at once but change when i feed him once ever 3 days, is that too long without food?

Feed him every day (heck, as often as he'll eat), until he gains some weight. If he's eating at all, treat for IPs.

it wont eat at all anymore and he inhaled his food yesterday it makes me worried and he wont come tot eh front and see who is there

What are you feeding?

Try soaking his food in some crushed garlic, it should help stimulate his appetite

sadly my puffer fish died last night, we suspect, my husband and i, additives to the water from the water water company because we had a massive fish kill on all our tanks
