Hi all,

I have 4 GSPs and have had then for about 3 months. I found this site and thought it would be good to get with other puffer owners.

It is my first time owning puffers and have found them to be the most enjoyable fish to own. I really love the way they greet me at the tank when I come home from work. Each one seems to have a different personality.

Right now I have them in a 10 gallon tank but I realized very quickly they are going to need a much larger tank.

I started out with 4 puffers but one died after about a month. After the other 3 have been doing well I decided to get another.

Hello and welcome. Please try to get a larger tank ASAP as they technically require 30 gallons each. So you are looking at a 120 gallon tank for 4 adult puffers. They also thrive in high brackish and marine salinities.

I wasn't expecting that big, when I got them they told me 10 was good to start and then 10 per fish by the time they are full grown.

I got the high brackish down I keep a dish of aquarium salt in the tank and they are thriving, their colors are bright and their eyes are clear.

You should be using Marine Salt not aquarium salt

Welcome! Glad you found us. I hope you haven't bought the 4th, replacement yet?

Aquarium salt in a dish in the tank? That is certainly not how to make brackish water, water needs to be mixed with a marine mix to a specific sg. Raise your salinity too fast and you will cause a tank crash.

I saw that. Let's explain how to do this right, for this newbie.
