At least you gave it a proper home to live in.
I cringe at the cups and bowls they are usually doomed to live in.

A little 10 gallon all to himself
The tank is still a work in progress though. His fins are so heavy he can't handle current, plus he is not a strong swimmer after living in cups. So, most of the decor blocks the flow, plus the filter is on low with a baffle on it. Hopefully he will get a bit stronger in a few months after swimming around for awhile.

They gain strength surprisingly fast. Their big fins slow them a little but they can be surprisingly strong swimmers.

Mine is in a ten gallon with no tankmates, but I have not thought of a name for him.

I think he will be fine. He is an active swimmer, just needs some time to gain muscle.

Thanks, I am starting to love them to! I have had them before, but recently I am becoming fond of them. I even joined a betta forum.

I had a blue one like the one posted above living with guppies, mollies, and neon tetras in a 20g long. Even with the strong current that the filter put out the Betta handled himself quite well.

Ok, the good people at the betta forum have informed me that he is a double tail halfmoon, not a regular half moon. I did not know that existed. I have heard of a double tail and a halfmoon...but not the two together. I haven't seen the split in the tail, but I can see the shape.
His color is also described as a cellophane marble.
Who knew!

It's called
www.bettafish.com
I found it when I was looking for instructions on making a baffle for the filter.
I have the same name. Here is my intro thread. My avatars is different though.
http://www.bettafish.com/showthread.php?t=130627
Is there another forum I should try?
