fahakas and water flow

was thinking of changing my intake a little to make a more of a current for him, I have a sand substrate so the current will be more towards the top do Fahakas do well in a tank like this? I know they come from rivers so i assume so but just double checking thanks all for everyones help with all my questions my fahaka is doing great because of you

Higher flow along 1 side of the tank can provide great exercise for a puffer. Most fahakas are lazy though and will likely avoid that bit. They are smart enough to know there is an easier path, at least mine was lol

I will not deny that they tend to be more than a little lazy, but they are also very strong swimmers and can handle the main channel flow of their hone rivers in flood season.

So if I do a decent current towards the surface it'll be ok then? And ill have that pic this weekend

You need good surface move ment but most aim the strongest current along the front glass. If you have big waves at the top food will scatter lol

But I don't want it to blow the sand around tthats why I was going to do just the top

This would be an instance where I would spend many hours playing with the flow, I love it lol. Try it see if it works

I have 2 hydors runnin on sand. Your sand will be fine.

I put in a diy spray bar has good current keeps the substrate nice n clean too good flow my fahaka is loving it and riding the current opening his tail I think the spray bar did the trick
