2 GSPs in a100g SW Tank potential tank mates.....?

I'm in the process of setting up a 100 gal SW tank, with a sump, 75-100 lbs of LR. My GSPs Dude and Sweet (1.5-2')are currently in a 35g brackish tank. What can I potentially introduce as tank mates? Can some of you guys share successes/fails? And how should I go about introducing the GSPs and potential tank mates to the new set up? I understand a lot is determined by Dude and Sweet's personalities and demeanor.

Thanks all!

Thats a hard question to answer.

Most gsps will end up killing other fish from taste tests. I can only suggest you not do that. But with all the other gsp owners, maybe theirs a chance of somethin. Gsps get to be a stout 6" long so you may change your mind.

Fish you could try in a 100g SW heavily decorated (150-200lbs LR):
1 more GSP or 1 Ceylon puffer
Or 1 tomato clown
Or if your puffers are NOT killers, smaller, fast-moving fish like: wrasses, a school of yellowtail damselfish, fish from the Pseudochromis/dottyback family.

You could do a blenny or a goby as long as he had places to hide.

Absolutely NO sedentary fish that perch on rock!

PP when you say "1 tomatoe clown" why couldn't I do two of them? I'm learning that is why I ask, not that I'm questioning it? Thanks for the feed back. I've always wanted a SW tank with clowns, anemones, and corals so its hard for me to accept that I can't have them with the GSPs . But one thing for certain is I love the puffers more so....... I'll do what's best for them.

1st of all, because they grow about as large as the puffers. 2nd, clowns can get quite mean & very territorial, when spawning.

Got ya, I figured it was a size thing. I've seen your 55 gal and its very cool, where do you get the artificial coral and decor? Is there a particular website? Lastly it's not under the topic of tank mates, but I have recently started getting a brown like algae growing in my aquarium and I cant seem to get a handle on it. I've been doing 50% water changes weekly. Any suggestions?

I'd say diatoms, especially seeing as you're just setting up your tank.

This may be of some help

Two Tomato clown would be a breeding pair. I'd use a 100 just for them. A singleton w/o an anemone doesn't need as much space.

+1 on RTR.
Diatoms are a normal stage in a newly set up system. Get a brush & scrub everything off as often as it bothers you. Eventually, it will stop.

As far as my fake decor--that was while they were in high-BW. During that time I was doing 50% weekly WC, using 10 cups of $alt/week. Once they got to SW I took that out & added live rock & a protein skimmer, reducing the need for WC to 30% monthly. Eventually, those puffers outgrew the 55g & they were re-homed.
