I think I know why mom and pop lfs are going out of business.

I went in a new lfs a couple of weeks ago and signed up for their free discount card.

The store sells aquariums, fish, betta kits, dog and cat food, puppy mill puppies and kittens, some dog and cat medications, birds and lizards. That's about it. It is a small pet store, mostly just sells pets. They might have some leashes and chew toys, not sure.

They just sent me this coupon


At least petco/petsmart sends me coupons I can use.

They used 2 stamps to send this to me.

I feel like driving the 2 hours it takes to get there, walking in, handing them the coupon and saying, "You sent this to me a few days ago. Can you throw it away for me? That trash can over there looks like a good place".

I must be dense--what's the problem?

Lol, the coupon says I can't use it on any of the items they sale. Not on animals or food or aquariums....

It is a pet store and I can't use the coupon on pets or the stuff they need.

You can buy fish, aquarium supplies, food...

They don't really have the extra stuff for the fish..just a few tanks and stuff for betta (betta bowls/kits). And I can't use it to buy fish cause I can't use to buy live animals. They did have a refrigerator, but all it had in there was some kind of fancy dog food

I just found the coupon funny because the store really doesn't sell much besides the animals, so I can't figure out what I could use it on except maybe a dog leash. So, why couldn't they send me a coupon that said 40% off a dog leash. It is a really small store.

Yeah, they may not consider fish as "live animals".

What store is it? Call them and ask what it CAN be used for and see what they say.
