Hey guys. Its been a long time. I have been debating if i should get a red eye or red tailed puffer. If i get either one i would like to get a pair. I have a 30 gallon that has been just sitting around. I have done my research and stuck between these.2. I wanted a few opinions on which to get and also does anyone know a reputable dealer? I have a few pet stores here in MN looking, but i figured this would be the place to get some answers.

I've been looking for Irrubescos (commonly called red eye red tails) for AGES. No luck. They occasionally come up on Aquabid, but I haven't seen any there in over a year. I have 3 different LFS keeping an eye on their ordering sheets for me too. No luck so far, and I'd accept almost any red eye variety at this point.
If you DO find some, you are contractually required as a member of TPF to post here where you found them.

Huge +1 to pufftastic
I have only ever seen them for sale on aquabid.com. What till the weather gets warmer, then you might start seeing them again.

This just popped up on aquabid. Not exactly what you are looking for, but similar, bornean red eye.

http://www.aquariumfish.net/catalog_pag ... r_fish.htm sells them but they're out of stock at the moment. This isn't really the best time of year to be buying fish online. I'd wait until spring and keep an eye on these guys, surely they'll stock some.

I found a dealer that says he has carinotetraodon borneensis, but to me it looks like a carinotetradon lorteti. I tried to upload a pic but i couldnt. He sent me a pic. Do borneno have red stripes down there bellies. I have looked a a few pics on google but i.cant tell if there the same. He is a darker color, but his pic was a pic from google. I asked for a pic of the ones i would be getting and havent got a picture yet. So hopefully its a carinotetraodon lorteti.
