My porcupine puffer has been hanging out with a air stone bubbler. He sits on it & try's to eat the bubbles. Is this normal? Can it harm him? Thanks

Could be nothing, could be something serious. More info needed.

If lots of air is ingested it could pose a problem, this is unlikely though.

Ive had lots of fish that like playing/sitting in airstone bubbles

A) the puffer finds this to be the most entertaining thing
B) the puffer is hungry

I have a 125 gallon tank. Temp 79,ph 8.2. Nitrites & nitrates 0. Salinity 1.023. I bought the tank used & it's been running for a month 1/2. I recently research the sump & it's rated for 75 gallons. I have 2 puffers,shark filefish. I'm looking for a bigger sump. That's why I decided to put a couple of air stones in it. All fish seem fine. Thanks

I have noticed a lot of puffers seem to hang near the bubblers to entertain themselves. (alternative to glass surfing) It might be some kind of bubble fetish.

My old GSP did the same thing with his airstone. I think he liked the way it felt. I used to call it his jacuzzi.
