lfs puffer ID

is this ceylon or fig 8? the LFS have it under Fig8 but i thought it looked more ceylonish

well thats what i thought and this LFS is usually really good at puffers. o well at least its brackish eh

I think Ceylon as well. I can understand the confusion though, looks very much like an '8' on it's back.

looks like a ceylon to me, it doesnt have the eyespot of a F8.

No doubt it's a Ceylon. See the lack of eyespots & spots on it's belly?

Yup! I meant that I understand the confusion by the lfs, as it does have an 8 shape.

its identical to the ones i lost last week, the lfs said it was fig 8 but it didnt look like fig 8`s in the pics on websites,

Side note: The figures/pattern on the back of the F-8 has nothing to do with IDing the F-8 - it is the eyespots that matter. Ditto for the young Ceylon, the patterns on individual fish are just that, individual. The colors and lack of eyespots determine ID.

Yes, but the pattern on the back certainly adds to the confusion of a less-than-knowledgeable lfs.
