Dexter

Hey guys
Been awhile since I posted things here.
Dexter is now in his new home 75g for at least the next 6 months.
Then it will be on to a 120g
He is roughly 6" long and having fun
Need a tons more decoration but that's coming

He is certainly a nice looking fish. I think another 6 months may be pushing your luck though

Thanks! Yeah I know I might be pushing my luck but we will take it one day at a time.
I need to get some tall decorations for him. Any suggestions would be awesome. The plan right now is to get a bunch of rock and start making caves and things that are solid to swim thru. Thought about getting him some "swimming food reserves" to play with but not sure what I want to do.
He currently destroys anything in his tank that moves.....

I would use tall plants live or fake, rock is gonna take up vital water volume and swimming space

There are some fake 3' plants offered online you can get for him.

I have stayed with silk plants right now because the plastic ones seem so hard I didn't want them to cut him.

LOL, cut him? His skin is like thick, leathery sandpaper. I've done necropsies on them & could barely cut through with a new razor blade.

Good to know.
I will take a side picture of him looks like he has a line all the way down his body from a cut or something.
Thats where I was getting the "cut from" idea

I like silk plants because they move nicely in the water and I think they fill space better than plastic ones. If you find something you like, get a mix of tall and small and then group them together. The affect of different sizes looks more "natural". However, even though I use the term natural.... I have purple and orange plants in my puffer tank because I do enjoy my purple
. But, be for warned. Fake plants are expensive, but worth it.
This thread is a good excuse to show off tank shots. This is my gsp tank, covered with fake plants and slightly tacky.
