Most definately not, this is a fish that can get 30"+ and has considerable girth. The bio- load would cause no end of problems. Stunting would be guaranteed. How about a fahaka? That would make an ace fahaka tank

yeah I was thinking about fahaka too but there is no fahaka in pet shop or on stock list for now..

Fahaka tank for sure. Try ordering online from websites like aquabid. If I found a fahaka 1 inch juvi I would spend about $30, in my area. The bigger it was the more it would cost. Oh don't forget that if you order online, shipping starts at $35.

Fahakas go for about £16 round my way. Thats a perfect fahaka home, they seem quite common here maybe your Lfs can order?

Just to add that tank has a gross volume of 169.7 usg, more realistically after displacement etc you will be looking at around 120-140 usg useable volume at the most.

A small 2" fahaka goes for around $30 US $$$. They're well worth the wait!

If it is what you want, and you have got the tank ready then go for it.

However, it is really small in size, and I never trust a pet store....so just to make sure, when you go to pick it up make sure it is not a male dwarf puffer. Dwarfs and fahakas are both fresh water, and male dwarfs can look like fahakas. An inexperienced pet shop employee may not know the difference, I have seen it happen before.....sorry to be skeptical :)

Here are what dwarfs look like like ug.php/v/PufferPedia/Freshwater/C_Travancoricus/
