Is it a Fahaka???

Before, I had T. lerius for three years, they died, and I went to the local pet store and bought T. lineatis (at least i hope so) he's now living in 50g tank. My question is, is it really a Fahaka, and if it so, why it is not that aggressive??? Also I have read that they grow fast, mine is living in my tank for 3 month and grows slowly.

I feed him twice per day, I'll soon change my tank to 80g, will it be enough for him??? He's now living with barbs, and there is no aggression towards them, will he be able to live with them when he'll grow up???

My 11" fahaka lives w/a tankfull of fish. He recently beat up a Jack Dempsey prettty bad, after living w/it for 3 years.

He'll need a minimum 125g to house him as an adult, how big is he currently and what are you feeding him?
Depending on his individual personality he may live happily with the barbs or he may tear them to shreds.

He's very small approximately 2.5 inches, i feed him snails, blood-worms, and he loves Tropical for cichlids (in tablets). He's a very active puffer, but after he eats he likes to lay down for an hour or so, is it normal???

I have a Fahaka, mine used to sit down a lot now I haven't seen him do it for a while. Feed it formula one, that's what i feed mine and he has been growing like crazy.

sweet lookin fish! I wish I had 20 huge tanks for the fish that require them and ones that must live solitarily, but I guess that's life, maybe one day!

As for sitting on the tank bottom:
I had my 17" Fahaka in a 125 for seveal years, and about a month ago I moved him into a 210. All the decor is he exact same, some added due to extra room. He is SO very very active now, it's amazing. Constantly crusing. He was fairly active before too, but much more so now. This could be due to several things, and I'm sure additional swimming room has a lot to do with it.

I'd get him on some food with more protein, prawn, mussel and cockle are all good. Check out Rockers article about food for some tips.
