Does anyone know what a Borneo Puffer looks like? Do you know where I can find a picture? It is supposed to have a camo back, turquoise eyes, and a red belly. I was looking for a photo. Thanks.

No just know that it is uncommon, has a red belly, camo top and turquoise eyes. Was thinking about getting one from a shop, but I would like to see a picture first.

I believe that is it. Looks like the description the man at the aquarium shop gave me. He said it was a male. I might go ahead and get it. Cute little fellow for sure.

Male Carinotetraodon irrubesco have white bellies with a red stripe down the center of it

I was gonna say--good luck having a LFS properly ID these guys... many of us can't most of the time.

IDK if its just me.. the 2 photos seems to be the opposite of each other.. 1st photo should be a redeye, 2nd is a borneo... But like PP said... we sometimes have trouble IDing them ourselves...

Tim's picture is C. borneensis (subadult male or female). Anry's and PP's are C. lorteti (both male). The males can have a red colored belly in the area of the ridge. Good luck to anyone discussing lorteti vs. borneensis or even borneensis gender.

Upper one: lorteti, lower one: borneensis IMO
