Hello everyone,
My name is Marc and I am new to this forum. I recently have purchased a Green Puffer, who my son who is 2 named Nom Nom Nom. The name is quite fitting as he has a voracious appetite. Nom Nom Nom currently resides in a 30 gallon fowlr tank with his new room mate, Oz the emerald crab. Attached are several pics of the setup.

Puffers sure can pig out, so to speak.

hello welcome to the forum any questions you might have we have an answer. Puffers are a unique species of fish and theirs a lot to learn about them if you are just getting into Puffers. Idk much about emerald crabs or how big they get, but my guess is that your puffer might find him tasty looking down the road

Good job on keeping him in a 30g. How long has the tank been setup? What are your plans for the tank and GSP?

Yeah, for some reason I get a "Sorry, the board attachment quota has been reached." Error every time I try to upload a photo. It is a full marine setup. Salinity is right at 1.02, I'm running a 500 gallon per hour Aqua Clear power filter, an Instant Ocean Seaclone 100 protein skimmer, I have a Marineland 21" hidden LED, and a Tetra whisper air pump 40 running a 24 inch bubble wall. Aragonite sand substrate with 28.5 lbs of premium live rock from Jakarta, Indonesia. I figure it is best to over filter the tank! My Emerald crab Oz is my algae clean up crew. Nom Nom Nom leaves him alone for the most part, they are roughly the same size and he is tucked up tight against the live rock. I feed him a diet of frozen blood worms, krill, brine shrimp, and beef heart. He also gets plenty of snails. I started a separate 2 gallon tank to specifically breed snails. I also tried gut loading Ghost shrimp, but he just likes to chase them around the tank and nip at them. Nom Nom Nom spends most of his time surfing the bubble wall. I've spent a lot of time researching but I am new to saltwater setups.

It would be best to minimise the krill. This can cause jawlock.

Dump the media in the AC & use it for flow only. How much LR is in there? Get a better skimmer too, like a Backpac.
Bubble walls in a SW tank causes extreme salt spray.

I got rid of the bubble wall after reading that it can cause Popeye, salt creep, and PH fluctuations. I added a maxi-jet 400 to increase the flow.

As you can see from the pics I've posted, I've purchased a pair of Ocellaris Clown fish, a Green Bubble tip Anenome, and a substantail lighting upgrade.
Everyone is getting a lot great and eating well.

Today I picked up several invertabrates to help my self sustaining Eco system.
2 turbo snails, 3 torchus snails, 3 scarlet reef hermits, and a pencil urchin. I also stocked the tank with a firefish and a six line wrasse.

And all the other inverts & probably the firefish.

If you plan on keeping them together keep a close eye on nipped fins and holes in inverts. If you get lucky you can take that as a warning and.remove them, but you might possibly walk by and clown guts strung out like yarn. Do as you wish its a beautiful tank. Snails are puffer food so hopefully that was intentional
