Moving Puffers Long Distances

Hi guys, I could use some more advice. : )

Right after Christmas we are moving. I did read the article in the library here about moving fish, but would like to hear your thoughts. We will be driving to our new home which is ~900 miles away. I have moved long distances a few times in my life and never had any trouble transporting pets, but this will be the first time I have fish to take with me. I want this trip to be as stress free as possible for them. We will drive 500-600 miles the first day, spend a night in a hotel and drive the rest of the trip the next day. They will have air pumps, etc. for travel.

I have two Figure Eights who are accustomed to being together. They were in the same tank at the pet store and have shared a tank since I brought them home more than a month ago. They have gotten along fine so far. (They don't try to bite each other and all fins are intact.) Should I transport them in the same container? Or might it be better to keep them in separate ones? Also, what type of container and size would you recommend?
