Good LFS Experience (DP)

Went today to get my new DP (yay!), and was pleasantly surprised when the employee asked me whether I had any other fish in the tank I'd be using. Wow! I've set up a tank for just the DP, of course, but he told me how lots of customers come back upset when their new half-inch DP eats all the fins off the other fish in their community tanks. Of course, WE all know that on TPF, but I was so pleased that he was "pre-screening" customers that way.

Picked my new DP from a tank full of babies. He/she (can't tell yet) is less than half an inch of puffery goodness, currently getting used to the tank. Gobbled up a small snack of live brine shrimp (not going to be a staple food, just wanted something super-tempting to get the fishy to eat for the first time) and looks very healthy.

It's so great to have a puffer again!

lucky you...

I spent several weeks of building up a rapport with a few members of one of my LFS. Went in yesterday and decided to buy another F8 and a few new DPs for previously empty but cycled tanks.

Talk about 100 questions...fresh water or salt??..both and brackish, cycled tanks or not? yes...how long? which tankof the 6 currently cycled tanks? ..other fish? mbu, Dps, target puffs, F8s, GSPs, porcupine, redtail...etc...and she constantly talked over me without either listening or ignoring my answers...until lilFry started talikng about Daddy's fish..and her boss kept asking me about puffers I had bought there and asking for general help IRO some problems with another cuustomer was having with his puffers...

It's good to hear there are still good shops out there, it's just a shame there aren't more

Unfortunately, the store stinks in other ways. But they always have a nice variety of puffers. Yesterday they had two tanks of medium sized F8s, a fully grown Ceylon, and an Arrowhead.
