Thank you! I'm excited to share my tank with other "fish" people. I absolutely love the GSP and the tank was actually built around it.

Very interesting. Are the mangroves attached somehow?

I've gotta ask, where's the dwarf puffer living?

In the stomach of the GSP mayhaps?

I made a rack the sits just behind the light for the mangroves. The dwarf puffer is in with the GSP, they don't even seem to notice each other.

If it's the fish right above the GSP, then, imo, it doesn't look like a dwarf puffer. I would love to see a proper picture of it .

Just read up in the library and found my DP is FW! I thought I had read that it's BW. He doesn't seem I'll and is doing real well. Should I set up a seperate Tank for him?

I will get a better pic when I get home from work. That's what I bought him as but then again wouldn't be the first time the LFS has mislabeled a fish. The first pic in my gallery is alil better pic of him if that helps

To me it looks like Colomesus asellus, but perhaps someone better at identifying can chime in.

Tim is correct. Your second puffer is Colomesus asellus, a FW species. Maybe I have overseen this, but what is the salinity of the water?
Small note on the mangroves: I don't think they'll last more than a year without substrate. Also use the forum search for mangroves, they are not the easiest of plants. However, the tank looks good so far.

Yes, your other puffer is STRICTLY FW: library/puffers-in-focus/sap/
library/hospital/dentistry/

+1 to above, beat me to it, yes the puffer in the 3rd pic is a South American Puffer (SAP) and is FW ONLY. Please get this puffer into a fully cycled FW tank ASAP, a f8 can't live healthily in the sg a GSP enjoys, let alone a SAP whom is strictly FW. I'm surprised it's not sick as it is, Whats you're specific gravity? For your GSP high end to mid brackish is best for it's size, possibly even marine.

SAPs are also happiest with conspecifics, so you might want to plan a larger tank & start looking for more of them.

thanks for clearing up the ID of the puffer. I have a tank i can get him into until i can find a foster home for him. As for the mangroves they are already doing very well sprouting leaves, once they are tall enough they will be placed lower for the roots to grow into substrate/rocks. AS for the SG, its 1.009. I am very surprised with the amazon puffer as he has been doing very well but maybe thats because of the high water quaility. but rest asure i will move him into a planted tank i have.
