how many snails a day??

my mbu puffer is 3 1/2 inches.i feed him 5 snails a day.is this ok or too much or too little? he also has either some prawn,cockle or mussle too.
when should i up the amount of snails???
most of the snails he has i have to crush as there too big for him but will this still be trimming his teeth???
sometimes he swallows the shell too.

The general rule is to feed until the tummy is slightly rounded, and remember to vary his diet.

Out of curiosity, what snail are U feeding it? At 3.5in, they should be abt to chew thru ramhorn and common snails with ease.

Hmm.. then he should be able to crush them.. u are not referring to those cone shaped trumpet snails.. rite?

no the small pond snails.i get them free from my lfs tanks.the really small ones he can eat no problem but the larger ones keep popping out of his mouth so i crush them for him.
