I keep my s.g. at 1.008-1.010. Is it okay to use the water (during WC) for the plants in my backyard, or will it kill the plants? There's also Seachem, nitrate, etc. components in the water.

Why would u wan to do that? Unless your backyard is a mangrove swamp.. I can imagine the plants wouldn't like the salt in long term.

Well I knew that plants can't handle salt, so the purpose of this question was more about what level of salt they can tolerate. I asked because I didn't want to waste water that could otherwise have other use.

I think its very hard for anyone to answer the question. The water would be too salty for any plants found out of mangrove area. I am not too sure if what I said is true, maybe the roots would be able to just filter out the water and not the salt..? need someone with more knowledge though. Besides, after the water dries up by the sun, there would most likely be some kind of salty smell and I would expect to see patches of salt crystal all over the place..

I would not use anything above 1.001 to water usual plants.

Unfortunately it will kill your plants. You can add soap to it if it looks fairly clean and scrub your paths with it

Do not use any water with elevated salt/other mineral content on normal outdoor plantings, including lawn grasses. "Conserving" water could cost you your landscaping plus requiring removal of all surface soil and replacement with normal soil. That could be a massive expenditure.

Grotesquely false economy. In a sewage system it will be diluted to harmlessness.
