Hi,

I have a question about the white blurriness on the aquarium glass/pane due to the salt in the water.
In order to have brackish water I mix tap water in an extra bucket with a certain amount of salt. After a few days there is a white blurriness on the pane.
How can I avoid that? Because I don't want to clean it every few days, and it will appear after it is cleaned again.

Is it a newly setup tank? Unlikely its due to the salt. If its new, it could be other finer particle accumulating on the glass ..

It is not that new, it is maybe 3-4 months old.

Film on wet surface (under water, whether FW, BW, or SW) tend to biotic - bacterial, algal,mold, etc. - all life forms.

Film on air-exposed subject to leaks or water spray tend to be mineral residues left when water has evaporated, leaving the minerals behind. The higher the mineral content of the water, the worse the "salt creep".

On surface comstanll wet by spray (such as cover glasses over airstones, both effects are seen - both live and mineral deposits. This cam actually etch the glass surface.

No, it is below the waterline. it is rather blured, as I said I guess it comes from the salt in the water. There are no algaes.

My marine tank is 3 years old (the setup) already and I have to clean the glass every second day. It's part of a marine tank. I do routine water changes (about 20% once or twice a week) and run a skimmer - still have to clean glass.

For the first couple days, it's a haze on the glass (looks almost foggy) but IF I leave it, it gets darker and darker.

My suggestion: mag float

What is the SG and how often and how much to you change at water change time? Also how large is the tank and what are the water params especially nitrAte?

IDK anyone who keeps a marine tank that doesn't have a Magfloat hanging on the back side of the glass, for easy cleaning.

Yes, it worked out
