Hi, new to the forum, just after some info really on SAPS.
i have 2 maybe 1inch in size, in a 400ltr set up with a sump which holds approx 60ltr.
Return pump is a ocean runner 3600, so tank has plenty of current/filtration etc... plus i have a internal filter really so no dead spots!!!
Water aparmeters are looking well, water changes are kept on top of ect...
Tank mates are pictus cats, large pleco, 3x 8inch tinfoils, a small black shark an a 5 inch silver shark.
They holding there own well considerin the size diffrence, eating well.
Are they fast growing? Can they be trained to take pellets, i do feed a lot of live feed still, and understand about teeth need trimming etc...
Is there anything im missing, or not doing???
any help, suggestions appreciated

Welcome to the forum, feed plenty of snails.

Do you really want to know what I think of your stocking?

Either rehome everything else, or buy a separate tank for the SAPs.

Also, you need at least 5, as they prefer to be in groups. Don't go adding 3 more to that tank, though. No, they can't be trained to take pellets, and they need a better diet than that. Loads of snails, like Bertie said.

There are way too many, large, fast-moving fish in there, giving those poor puffers too much competition for food.

ditto that,
and you may find the SAPS with silly faces and other dead fish (nope, I didn't do that)... they are pack hunters / killers

cheers for all comments, i am looking to re home the tinfoils soon anyway as they are getting too large so theres 1 problem nearly solved, and as for the puffers having too much competition for food ??? am not too sure, am new too puffers but they are defo getting there fair share of food haha, i have been feeding snails too.
They seem to be happy enough now, and i will be getting another 3 when the tinfoils are rehomed. great to watch these little guys, and they are holding there own with ease in the tank!!! cheers, any other info would be appreciated,

+1 to all the negative comments above. That tank is a nightmare of how not to set a tank. Rehome or return the SAPs ASAP, It would be hard to imagine a worse tank for SAPs.

SAPs are very loosely schooling fish who need basically species tanks with good current and plenty of plants to explore for snails - which are their basic diet.

Also, that silver shark is a high-end BW-SW species, that will grow to 18 " & is a schooling fish.

for evry1s info, there are plenty of snails in the tank, plenty in my sump for future, and will be fedd snails throughout there lives. the tank has plenty of fake plants rockery and plenty nooks and crannys for the puffers. They also have strong currents and flows. with filtration. th tank size is 4x2x2. so perfect setup other than the fish not compatible!!!
as it is they r swimming around happy as... and are quite happily eating and are in no way missing out on food!!! HOWEVER .... i am listening and taking your advice and as soon as the oppurtunity arises, the tinfoils and the silver shark are being rehomed!!!
if id have thought forward, i would have delayed the puffers, but tinfoils and sharks seem to fit with evrything!! obviously when thought about slower moving fish being out competed for food

Lol, yea you not being told off, everyone here will give you direct info without beating round the bush. Some people find it hard to take when they are new, it's nice to see someone who is taking it on board without whining lol.

I am keeping my pictus cats though, are they ok??? and my black shark, its only 3 inch at the mo and i understand how big they can get etc... but it doesnt bother nothing, eats greens more often than not. If it shows any sign off agression or bothering new puffers, it will be gon.
oh and i have a 6 inch fire eel which you very rarely see

Is that tank a 4x2x2 as in feet? That sounds like my 155g I had until I had to turn around and sell it when I lost my job and had to move out of state. Thats a great tank for puffers due to the extra width. And yes the other posts are correct. I would not trust the sharks and eel.
