Hi,

Does anyone know if an API Freshwater test kit will be accurate for low end brackish water, around 1.003-1.005? Or will i need to replace it with a saltwater kit.

For low end BW, I use FW test kits. I go to marine kits at and above specific gravity 1.010-1.012 (about halfway to full marine conditions).

I do find that the Ammonia on the API has a slight greenish hue to the yellow when testing BW...Very slight.
