GSP foods

Hey, so I've had my puffer for about 5 months now... I've been feeding him a combo of (small) shrimp, snails and (small) crickets. My question (although I imagine it's probably already been answered before, I just can't find it) what else can I feed him. I know basically any seafood (fresh) that a grocery store sells but does that include um... fish as well (small pieces of haddock, sole, etc) or is that type of fish not recommended for feeding. I just ask because I buy it fresh all the time for dinner and thought it would be easy to keep a bit of it frozen for my puffer.!

dont feed your puffer fish, because it does damage to the liver. i feed mine frozen (defrosted) bloodworms, whole muscles, and whole shrimp.

sorry maybe that is only live feeder fish

I think she meant don't feed your puffer 'fish', not don't feed your pufferfish.

I like feeding my puffers the parts of bivalves that are normally discarded - the abductor muscles.
My puffs love hard clam and oyster abductor muscles - unlike a whole mussel, this doesn't foul the water either.
I shucked a 1/2 bushel of oysters yesterday and saved all the abductor muscles, put them on a piece of wax paper, froze them, and then put in a plastic bag so its not all one giant frozen gob. I then thaw in vitamin before feeding. I have enough now to include for variety 1 to 2 days a week for many months.

I find that whole cockle is a favorite for our GSP. The company also sells whole cockle-in-shell, but I can't find a LFS that carries it.
