Hello, new to puffers not to the hobby

My daughter won a 10 gal at our lfs raffle and has fallen in love with dp's! I plan on 1-2 with live plants. Were leaving for the beach in a week and a half so perfect time to cycle! I keep Discus, so wc's arent an issue...heck 50% once a week is great compared to 75% daily or 2x daily lol. The thing Im concerned about is food- Im very allergic to bllodworms & so is my daughter ao I cant feed them. My Discus eat freeze-dried blackworms, could this be an acceptable staple? I also have frozen brine shrimp and mysis shrimp on hand. Thanks!

Mysis are good as a staple with blackworms, brine shrimp for a treat and they love snails to eat too. Ten gal is good for two but try not to get 2 males as fighting is a possibility but not guaranteed. Add lots of decor for them to explore. You are best to cycle the tank when you return, using media from an established tank will speed it up.

All the foods bertie mentioned are great ones. You may want to start a snail breeding tank so you have a constant supply of them.
