help! My powers out for the next 2.5 hours and no filter/air filter is running in my gsp's tank. What to do or will he be ok for this time?

Can you go buy one of those battery powered air pumps? Thats how I done it over the years. But if the tank is big enough then they should be fine also, like Arny mentioned.

You can get a cup or a pitcher (like the type you'd make lemonade in) and dip it in the tank and then pour it out (in the tank). This creates oxygen in the water. Good luck. Everything should be fine for 2.5 hours.

I did that to 8 tanks all night once... next morning I was sitting at the rental place at 6am waiting for them to open, so I could rent a generator. As soon as I got all the tanks plugged in-- the electricity went back on. Now, I have my own generator.

PP, I got a generator also because of 2009 icestorm. Lost all my fish during that.

I hadn't thought of it before, but a Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) might be a good idea.
