I'd like your opinion on this puffer (17cm - 6,69 in):

Does look like one. Pretty beat up & ins heavy stress colors. How big is it?

He was very damaged at the store ... and in fresh water during 3 weeks
They thought it was tetraodon turgidus (Stock list)

Looks like what was called T. cf. sabahensis on the forum in the past.

Why is it that fully grown puffers (GSP etc) always look dull and washed out?

Yeah, extremely stressed and beat up. He should be bright. If he is kept in pure FW then I see why he has the stress colors. My adult GSP I once had many many years ago had stressed out colors like that at the store I bought him from. But when I got him home and in a larger tank, his bright colors came out so much. Btw, does look like T. sabahensis to me.

It is a sabahensis, at least it match with all the characteristic described about this puffers ¿are you planing to acquire it?
it could be good for it, and also good to you if you have room for it lol
