GSP With White String Stuff Coming From His Anus (YUK)

Okay...okay...what is this?? I was changing my GSPs water today and noticed that he was pooping some long white stringy thing. It did not look like a worm, I tried to scoop it up with the net but it just fell apart.

Does anyone know what this is?

He has been sick (See my previous post) and I have been treating him with Maracyn.

Any help is appreciated.

This means that he has internal parasites. Read this article: http://www.thepufferforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=13

What to treat with?

I read the post that you provided but I still have not idea what to treat my GSP with? I am already treating him with Maracyn and Melafix.

What kind of parasite is this?? It sis not look like a worm to me and when I tried to scoop it up with a net it fell to pieces.

Thanks.

It is an internal parasite as far as I know.

Why are you treating with Maracyn?
White feces doesn't always mean IP, but can be a symptom.

The Maracyn and Melafix are for the body fungus that I have been battling since the day that I brought him home (see my other topic post). Pufferpunk suggested that I treat the tank with both of them.

Can the stringy stuff be diarrhea?? My lps told me that this it what it could be.

A link is nice if you want others to look at another post. Too much to wade through...
I agree with PP on her suggestion.

That was in PM. This is why it is frustrating when folks PM, instead of just posting here. PMing was not necessary in this case, IMO.

Umm, I'm hoping you weren't just making a racist and political statement for no reason.

I think it maybe had more to do with water quality concerns. Seeing as they are from california, maybe they are close to the border. Mexican water treatment is non-existent in some areas, and is probably not fit for human, or fish use.

I live ON the border with Mexico, and if you think the question about Mexican water is racist, I'll be happy to send you some from Naco, Agua Prieta or Nogales. If you drink it, then your irrational sensitivity will make some sense.
