I bought a pair of Borneensis. They were overnighted and I received them today. The female looks like a borneo... The male looks like a Salivator. He has the stripes on the back and bars on his face... There isn't much info on the two and pictures are often miss named.
So the question is, before I call the company, what is a correct picture or description of a Borneensis

Edited to add that the guppy would not let me catch her.

I only see 1 puffer.

Can't see stripes on the back of the male in the picture, but I see the bar on the lower jaw

The females are told apart e.g. by continuous stripes on the belly: C. salivator has them. C. borneensis don't (and look like this: http://www.aquariumglaser.de/backend/FC ... ensis2.jpg).

Sorry the female is much too quick to get anything. She looks correct the male does not. He has the yellowish stripes or bands down the back. Ill try to get a better pic today. The tank lights were off for stress reasons. Looking at the pictures im pretty sure he is not what I ordered and paved to next day!

I would post more pictures but the images are to large and I debt have patients enough to fight with photo bucket on my phone. (my source of internet)
The male is definitely a salivator. I called the company today and they are sending the right male out tomorrow to get here Friday. No charge to me.
So anyone want a Salivator male. Healthy, Vibrant, eating great ? I can't set up another tank.
I bought the fish from The Wet Spot in Oregon in Case anyone is wondering. They were shipped very well, Very healthy and eating great. Besides the mix up, which I think he jumped into the wrong tank (he just jumped out of my guppy breeder box into the main tank >:/) they handled the mistake superbly. I would definitely use them again.

So I went to town today and uploaded pictures to photobucket. I need your ID from the pictures though im pretty sure he's a Salivator. The sales manager says the other male there is showing the same mottled color and that this boy is just stressed. To me he's not stressed and is very happy and healthy And a beasty brute! What an attitude he has! lol

This is the very stressed female Borneensis. I have since switched the two. The female stresses very easily.

Yes, C. salivator male. The second puffer I'm not surem it's quite dark, is the caudal fin striped and the belly stripeless?

I wish I could, but from what I read they don't mix well. Its a gamble just having a pair of the same kind. As it is this little brute stalks the female as a past time. He got her tail good when she wasn't being aware. He is as aggressive as he is pretty!

id love to take him once i move, switch my fish around, and if he could go into a 10g all by himself. but youd have to ship him and i dont have money for overnight shipping.

damn i gotta stop looking at his pics, im wanting him as much as i had wanted the irrubesco last month.
