Here's my planted DP tank. It's a Fluval Ebi set up, 7.9g standard specs (stock fluval internal filter w/spraybar, 13w fluval light- 6,400k I believe), with a 50w heater. Housing 1 Carinotetraodon Travancoricus (Indian Dwarf Puffer), her name is Squee. 3 Otocinclus (dwarf catfish), and maybe 5 total ghost and red cherry shrimp. I just recently rescaped and am really happy with how it looks! Still open to suggestions, so if you have one- fire away. Excuse the glare...


Somebody seems really happy with the set-up!


I'm planning on adding more plants as I can. Not sure what this plant is, but it is impossible to plant and stay put! Hopefully this arrangement will work, I'll be removing some of this rock if the roots take hold...

I am considering getting one more. With tank size, I think that's all I can house here comfortably. My LFS has some now, if I can sex them properly I may pick up another female, see if they get on. It's better to have 2 females if you only keep 2, is that right?

I'm not 100% sure on the size requirements, still sorting all the conflicting info...but I'm seeing it's recommended 5g for the first, and 3g for ea additional? Some also just say 3-5 for ea. If that's the case, another one is possible, if pushing it, but I might just wait until we have a 20g free so that I can have a proper harem of 2-to-1 and introduce everyone to a new space at the same time. We'll see. These little porkchops are just too much fun not to get more at some point!

Thanks! That plant's a hygrophila- corymbosa stricta, "giant hygro".

I love the lushness of this tank, with it being rimless it's so much of a pleasure to plant up thick, you can see from every angle. I'm about to put a big bunch of bronze crypts and some other stuff in there, I want my squee to have lots of cover and fun places to explore... I'll post more pics when the water clears back up!

The guy I got her from said, "he", but that's what I was thinking, too. Looks like a "she" to me! Haven't decided yet, but good to know, 2 girls would get along better. Thanks, Pufferpunk.

+1 for not adding another. You COULD, if you really wanted to, but she's been so happy in there by herself. I think I read that you got her from someone else as a singleton? She would most certainly enjoy staying that way.

It's totally up to you, though. As mentioned above, you would be able to put another female in there if you were set on it.
