I have some sw friends that love puffers but in my opinion really don't know what they are doing. They have a 12" dog face in a 30 gallon. i told them it needs at least a 90 wouldn't you say?

12inches, isn't that his full size. I thought it wouldn't have grown that big in a 30g

Your friend must have gotten the puffer as a 12" adult.

It wouldn't live long in a 30 gallon.

Minimum Tank Size is about a 100 gallons. Like everyone says it wont live long let your friends know .

"Friends" like that don't last long in my life.

I showed them your posts and they actually got it as an 11 incher. They say thank you for the advice and to tell you they will be upgrading.
