My Newly Bought Porcupine Puffer Still Hasn't Accepted Any Prepared Food Yet. I Was Going To Purchase Some Live Food For Her But I Don't Know What Would Be Best For Her To Eat? And Also She Seems To Be Afraid Of The Aquarium Light Fixture She Hides When Its On But Comes Out When Its Off. Could It Be Because It Simulates The Ocean Light? Has Anyone Had This Problem With Their Puffer Before? Thank You For Everybody's Help And Advice.

I had issues when I first got Petey . Thanks to everyone here , He is doing great and eating like a hog. If they dont eat some people say let them be and they will eat . I wasnt keen on that , So I did was got live food .I started with ghost shrimp , not very fulfilling but it worked .Then , I found out here thanks to Xray , was Marbled Crays are self cloning and after a few months you have a colony, lol . You could also try some saltwater crabs( emerald crabs ) $ About 5 bucks a pop but It will survive in the water longer than crays and the ghost shrimp . After Petey started to go after all the live foods like a champ I started to Introduce raw uncooked shrimp , similar in a way in terms of shapeto a crayfish . I now buy frozen clam, mussels and squid meat and he eats them with no problems. Just keep in mind they need crunchy food to keep there beaks trimmed so the crayfish or crabs are a good idea. Not every day, but once or twice a week .

I don't see why you need to spend the extra $$4 on emerald crabs, when fiddlers are 1/2 the price.
