OMG, that has to be the coolest Puffer I've seen in a while. The variations of colors are absolutely amazing too. How big do these guys tend to get? I know it was said that not many have been kept in aquariums so not much information is known most likely. I think I am on a mission to find own one of these guys before I die someday!

Wikipedia calls it a pricklebelly blaasop. Info on blaasop puffers is pretty scarce and conflicting, but they all tend to indicate that it is a marine fish. One source said this partucular blaasop only gets 7 inches long. I am hesitant to believe that, however.

Chelonodon pleurospilus gets 20 cm (7.9 inches), it is a marine fish. blaasop is Afrikaans for puffer, so "blaasop puffer" would mean "puffer puffer", which makes barely sense. If you want one feel free to organize the export from South Africa / import to wherever you live, travel to SA (eastern part, between Xora river and Durban), visit the Aquarium in Bloemfontein to learn how they kept their specimen and where they got it from, make contact to local fishermen, wait until you get one or catch one your self -> success.
